The Lord's Acre in Fairview
What a beautiful way to build Community! Yesterday, I took a break from writing and drove through the Hickory Nut Gorge to Fairview. Here are some photos of The Lord's Acre located in the town's business district. It's a local garden project that provides fresh, organic vegetables for several food banks and food agencies in the region. In 2010, their second growing season, they grew and gave away over 5.6 tons of produce with the help of 25,000 volunteer hours, and had 9 churches and 4 schools and colleges come volunteer.
